How beautiful is the word "self-centered"βto be truly "established in the self." I take it…
Sita Ram
Let us assume for a while Ram and Sita as normal human beings and not God. The first conflict in Ram’s life was politics in the family for property and wealth. He decided to let it go.
Don’t you think his analytical mind would not have told him, “I need to secure my future, what about my rights as the eldest brother?” Normally, people would call such a person impractical, or a fool to let go of all of his wealth and property.
Also, Ram decided to fight against Ravan, the most powerful man of his time, with the help of ‘monkeys’. Assuming we don’t know the end of the story, again, people would call such a person a fool. In the end, Ram became the most loveable king and won the hearts of his family, friends, and rivals.
The second half of the story depicts Sita’s individuality. After being released from Ravan’s prison, the question arose about her character. She made a willing decision to leave her husband Ram’s home. She was pregnant with no money, no clue where she would end up.
Don’t you think her analytical mind would have told her “Where will I go? What about my rights? How will I survive? She just left the palace without analysing. After many years of struggling and bringing up her two children single-handedly, one day she met her husband, Ram, and again the question arose about her character. Sita took another decision to be apart from her husband forever.
We also don’t lack the courage to follow our hearts, but the real problem is that we don’t know what we want? The lack of certainty. The whole thing is confusion – this way or that. What if…? The confusion is real for us. Arjuna, being in the company of Krishna throughout his life, if he could be confused at the time of the battle, what to talk about us?
The certainly comes with no explanation. It is a lifetime effort on oneself. We have to pursue silence, meditation as no other choice. Maybe on this path we are left alone many times, but it is an amazing experience, how eventually so-called wrongs turn into rights every time.
